Mrs. Norman was a student and close personal friend of Gertrude Ewing. Ewing was a professor of Latin at Indiana State and active in Latin education on a national level. She recruited Mrs. Norman to Indiana State.

On Miss Ewing’s death, Mrs. Norman went through personal papers/records and delivered the contents of the collection to the ISU archives.
