The General Counsel at Indiana State University is the chief legal advisor to the President of the University and the Indiana State University Board of Trustees. The General Counsel is also the official University liaison to the ISU Board of Trustees and Secretary for the University, the official repository of records and documents relating to the business of the ISU Board of Trustees and the ISU Handbook. The General Counsel oversees certain compliance functions at ISU. These include Legal Affairs, Internal Audit, and Affirmative Action.
There are six series which include physical material and digital material.
Committees: There are records of the interaction of the General Counsel and Legal Affairs with the President's Advisory Committee.
Contracts: There are copies of official contracts between Indiana State University and other corporate and individual bodies.
Correspondence: These are internal and external correspondence relating to matters falling within the purview of the General Counsel and Legal Affairs.
General Files: These files refer to the day-to-day operation of the General Counsel and the divisions under it.
Litigation: These are records of legal proceedings and collections of evidence from the history of the University.
University Handbook: These are editions of the University Handbook, including printed and digital versions.
