The dated records span from 1942 to 1997, but the majority of the documents focus on the decades of the 1970s and the 1980s. There are ten series.
The first series contains finished reports and data collected for accreditation processes on the university, school, college and department levle.
The second series contains minutes and meeting reports from the Faculty Senate, the Board of Trustees and other university bodies.
The third series contains files relating to Sarah Clevenger, an employee of the university, and the lawsuit she filed against the university.
The fourth series contains materials created by and a final report of a commission to study the experience of women on Indiana State University's campus.
The fifth series contains materials relating to specific university bodies on the department level, including Public Safety, the Computer Center, and University Archives.
The sixth series contains general files relating to the day-to-day operations of the office.
The seventh series contains the personal files of Charles Hardaway, Vice President of Administrative Affairs.
The eight series contains the working files for a search for the Director of Personell Services in 1982-1983.
The ninth series contains minutes from Board of Trustees meetings and other services provided by the office to the Board of Trustees.
The tenth series contains the data and final reports a number of faculty workload and compensation studies.
