    Dr. John A. Boyd served ISU for 29 years; as well as a member of the faculty, Dr. Boyd also served as adviser for the Sycamore Yearbook and Indiana Statesman from 1952 to 1962. Upon retiring in 1981, the John A. Boyd Scholarship fund was established in his honor to help journalism students.
