Scope and Contents

The John B. Ermisch collection on Larry Bird and Kirt Thomas is composed of newspaper clippings and magazine articles regarding Larry Bird's and Kirt Thomas' Indiana State University career. The remaining objects are programs from games, autographed mementos, a scorecard from the NCAA 1979 men's basketball tournament, a restaurant menu, and a parking pass for the Indiana State University Hulman Center. Nearly all of the contents of the collection relate to Larry Bird with a single folder containing publications regarding gymnast Kirt Thomas.

When identified, staff grouped newspaper clippings and magazines by publication name. Staff removed the autographed photograph from the picture frame, placed the photo in a folder, and disposed of the frame.
