Scope and Contents

The Eva Johnson Newton Papers consists of photographs, theater programs, and newspaper clippings. The collection is arranged in four folders, divided into relevant information to the Laboratory School, Normal School, theater items and other personal photos from the Johnson-Newton family. This collection includes many family member photos including the children as the progressed through their schooling. This collection includes many of the original photos and programs from the events, however there are a number of photos that have been copied and put on photo paper as well.

Biographical or Historical Information

Eva Johnson was a graduate of Indiana Normal School in 1893. She was a primary school teacher in Anderson and Vigo County for five years before becoming a homemaker in 1898 when she married Robert Wayne Newton.
