    The Virginia Marie Miller Correspondence consists of a letter. This letter is written in April of 1962 by Virginia Marie Miller, a 1912 graduate of Indiana State Normal Training High School, which includes a seven-page account of her experiences from 1912-1962. This letter was to written as Mrs. H.C. Clatfelter (Virginia Marie Miller) was attempting to aid in the reunion of herself and her classmates from 50 years prior.

  • Biographical or Historical Information

    Virginia Marie Miller was a graduate of Indiana State Normal Training High School in 1912. She taught in the Terre Haute area from 1912-1913 until a flood swept the schoolhouse away. She married her neighbor, six years her older, and moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1924 she completed her college education at Wayne University, later called Wayne State University. In 1940-1950, she and her husband went into business together, in a company called, H.C. Clatfelter Gage Co.
